Poem: A Masterpiece

She looked at the pieces of her life

scattered around her on the floor.

The frame shattered,

the fragile painting within,

the painting that shared her hopes,

fears & dreams,

torn to pieces.

“Well,” she said.

“I guess it’s time to make a collage.”

And with that,

she found beauty in the broken

& created a life for herself.

The pieces of her past

told a new & different story,

the glue binding them together

making her stronger than ever.

She didn’t erase the past –

Instead, she used it to create something better for herself.
