Mirror Mirror – Part 2 – A Change in Perspective

mirror mirror on the wall poem- image of female staring at camera with magenta hair, serious expression, wearing a camo jacket over a striped shirt and large hoop earrings, background is a blurred orange building

Mirror, mirror,
On the wall,
When I look at the girl in front of me,
I’m completely in awe.

To think that she almost lost her life
Following the path she was on;
To think of the resilience it took
For her to keep fighting until she won.

She used to be so fragile,
Insecure and afraid.
Now she is so strong,
Confident and brave

Mirror, mirror,

On the wall,
When I look at the girl in front of me,
I’m completely in awe.

To think of all the things
She’s had to overcome;
To think of who she was
Versus who she has become.

She used to be so empty,
With a touch of sadness and despair.
Now she’s so full of life,
With an energy that doesn’t compare

Mirror, mirror,

On the wall,
When I look at the girl in front of me,

I’m completely in awe.
