recovery warriors - blog post - it takes a village..of good friends

It takes a village to rise up and overcome disordered eating.  Reach out to friends, family, community, and support.  When we reach out to people instead of food and deprivation, we are guided towards our own healing.  Healing comes easily when we are generous with ourselves and others.  With friends by our side, we step outside of ourselves.  Supported by another, we have strength.

It takes a couple of good friends, who love you no matter what.  Reach out and thank them.  Love them too.  Alone, the struggle is magnified.  When we turn to good friends instead of the struggle, laughter and connection overrides the obsession.  During those moments, we find equilibrium.  Amongst friends, we discover our generous, loving selves.  And with practice, we become our generous and loving self.

Do you feel supported by friends and family?
